Stargazing boulder opal necklace

The sparkling blend of colors and cloudy forms in this Australian boulder opal reminded me of our extraordinary view of the Milky Way in coastal North Carolina.   The lack of light pollution along the beaches make this one of the best spots in the country for stargazing on a warm summer evening!

This one of a kind necklace was lovingly handcrafted in sterling silver and 18k yellow gold, and features a freeform boulder opal with flashes of pink, white, green and blue.  The centerpiece of the necklace is 1 1/4 inches wide and 1/2 tall, the 16 inch attached silver chain makes the total length of the necklace 17 1/4 inches.
